Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior’s team-mates have rallied around him after he was racially abused during his side’s draw with Sevilla on Saturday.
Vinicius praised LaLiga side Sevilla for acting swiftly to eject and report a supporter to the authorities after he was subjected to more xenophobic behaviour.
An image posted by the footballer appeared to show an unnamed individual aiming a racist gesture toward him. Vinicius also said a second clip showed a young supporter being similarly abusive at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium.
After the final whistle, Sevilla confirmed ‘a member of the public was identified, ejected from the stadium and handed over to legal authorities’.
‘Furthermore, the internal disciplinary regulations will be strictly applied to him and he will be expelled as a member imminently,’ the club added.

Vinicius, taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, said the latest incident of racist abuse was ‘number 19 and counting’ – and several team-mates have supported him.
Sharing Vinicius’ latest post on Instagram, midfielder Jude Bellingham, signed from Borussia Dortmund during the summer, said: ‘Always with you, brother.’
In his own story, Aurelien Tchouameni replied with two fists in solidarity.
In a statement released after the incident, Sevilla said they ‘condemn any racist and xenophobic behaviour, even if it is in isolation, as is the case, and shows its willingness and collaboration with the authorities to eradicate these attitudes.’
Vinicius, meanwhile, wrote: ‘Congratulations to Sevilla for their quick positioning and punishment in yet another sad episode for Spanish football.
‘Unfortunately, I had access to a video of another racist act in this Saturday’s match, this time carried out by a child.

Vinicius has urged for individuals caught making racist gestures to be ‘criminally punished’
‘I am very sorry that there is no one to educate you. I invest, and I invest a lot, in education in Brazil to form citizens with attitudes different from these.
‘The face of today’s racist is plastered on websites as on many occasions. I hope the Spanish authorities do their part and change the legislation once and for all.’
Vinicius has also urged for individuals caught to be ‘criminally punished’.
The 23-year-old has been a regular target for racist insult from supporters.
Earlier this month, he gave evidence in the trial of three Valencia supporters accused of racially abusing him during a match at the Estadio Mestalla last season.
