A nervous Aaron Ramsdale's howler almost cost Arsenal a goal against Brentford.
The Gunners goalkeeper returned to the starting line-up for the fixture at Brentford for the first time since losing his no.1 spot to David Raya in September. Raya, who arrived in north London on loan in the summer, was ruled out of playing against his parent club on Saturday, having already featured for Brentford this season.
And after much talk in the build-up about Ramsdale proving his worth to manager Mikel Arteta, the Englishman nearly cost his side a goal with a shocking error.

Ramsdale received the ball in his own six-yard box in the 13th minute, having been goaded by the home fans in the form of some pro-Raya chants. The 25-year-old was clearly rattled as he fumbled over the ball, giving it away to Bryan Mbeumo with the goal gaping.
Mbeumo set-it up on a platter for his team-mate, who was denied only by a valiant goal-line block from Declan Rice. It did little to settle the England international's nerves as Brentford fans continued to jeer him every time he received the ball.

But Ramsdale did manage to respond moments later with an impressive pass out from the back, showing his mettle. Still, it didn't stop the former Sheffield United and Bournemouth shot-stopper from receiving some stern criticism on social media.
One Arsenal fan fumed: "RAMSDALE ARE YOU SERIOUS???" while another tweeted: "Ramsdale … this is your chance and you’re doing this. Come on man."
A third added: "If we relied on this man we would be fighting relegation," And another wrote: "Aaron Ramsdale currently playing like a man who knows that everyone is looking and talking about him. It really can't be easy. But he also can't be losing the ball there."
There has been much talk in recent months among fans and pundits over Arteta's decision to drop Ramsdale – whose performances last season earned him a place in the PFA Premier League Team of the Year.
Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville tweeted: "This is what happens when you have 2 keepers eating each other! You put them both under pressure."
