Premier League clubs have given the green light for more games to be broadcast live in the next TV deal.
Currently Sky Sports, TNT Sports and Amazon Prime share the rights in the UK with a total of 200 games aired each season. That contract, worth a staggering £5billion in total, is running until the end of the 2024/25 campaign.
It was rolled over two years ago amid the financial impact of the pandemic. But big changes are on the horizon after an online meeting of representatives from all 20 top-flight clubs on Thursday (September 28).

As well as the Champions League, TNT Sports will also be offering sports fans access to games across the Premier League, Europa League, Serie A and much more.

According to The Mirror, they voted through a proposal which could see dozens more games being available to watch. It will be put forward to TV companies in the coming weeks.
It would not only mean an increase in revenue for every club, but it could also open the door for another broadcaster to enter the fray. Amazon, who get two rounds of fixtures, and TNT, who show 52 games, will likely want a bigger piece of the pie too.

The report states that right now, there's nothing concrete about how many extra TV games there potentially could be, nor whether a new package could be brought in.
The Telegraph recently claimed a new Sunday night kick-off is being considered – but the idea of that being a regular occurence has been played down, say The Mirror.
There's been increasing complaints about the lack of televised Prem matches in the UK compared to overseas. Previously Apple had expressed an interest in entering the bidding, but they would only be after an exclusive deal like the one they've struck with the MLS.
