Paul Pogba still wants to leave Manchester United and the Red Devils are also not willing to offer him the new contract he would ask for to stay, according to reports. Pogba has long been linked with a move away from United, dating back to when Jose Mourinho was the club’s manager.

Pogba remains United’s all-time record signing after rejoining the club from Juventus for £89million in 2016.

However, the France international has often faced criticism for not living up to his billing at Old Trafford.

Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola has often been vocal in expressing his client’s desire to leave United.

Pogba has hit a good vein of form under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

However, ahead of tonight’s Europa League final against Villarreal, ESPN claim the 28-year-old still wants to leave.

ESPN says United are also not willing to increase Pogba’s wages to what he would demand to extend his stay at the club.

Therefore, the ideal scenario would be for Pogba to be sold in the upcoming transfer window.

However, the report says there is ‘no market’ for the midfielder, with clubs such as Real Madrid in financial difficulty.

United would want between £70m and £80m for Pogba’s signature, with the player demanding wages in excess of £300,000 a week.

Pogba is likely to start for United against Villarreal, as Solskjaer’s side aim to end their four-year wait for a trophy.

Former Holland midfielder Edgar Davids is a huge fan of Pogba and claims he has received some unfair criticism at United.

Davids claims Pogba “loves” United and will always put in everything to help the club achieve their targets.

“The thing is with Paul, people are so harsh with him,” Davids told the Mail.

“But he is one of the greatest talents I have seen. What we have seen so far is a glimpse.

“The funny thing is I met Paul and the guy is so humble. You don’t expect that, he is so humble.

“He loves United and he will always do his best and that makes me so excited.

“Sometimes you don’t see him perform but the problem is sometimes we want to see a different character. He expresses himself differently but he gives 110 per cent for United every time he steps on the pitch.

“The extra quality comes out and also if you have somebody like Bruno Fernandes to step up to the plate, you can see the extra qualities.

“You cannot let him do all his extra stuff by himself but he is one of the best players in the world in his position.”
