Neymar fuels Barcelona transfer talk days after release clause revealed

Neymar has fuelled speculation that he is set to make a sensational return to Barcelona just days after details of his release clause emerged.

The Paris Saint-Germain forward missed his team’s 5-0 hammering of Amiens on Saturday after boss Thomas Tuchel gave him a few days off following his exertions in Brazil’s injury time win over Argentina.

And the world’s most expensive footballer chose to spend his leisure time by returning to Barcelona to meet up with his pal, countryman Arthur, who plays for the Catalan giants.

Neymar, who joined the French club in £200million move from Barcelona in the summer of 2017, shared footage and pictures of his trip in his Instagram story.

It is likely to encourage theories that he is set to complete a transfer back to his former club.

Last week reports in the Spanish press claimed that Neymar, 26, had an agreement with PSG owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi, which would allow him to leave the Ligue 1 champions at the end of next season.

His release clause clause would only be activated if a club coughs up £190million, reported Spanish newspaper SPORT .

So far this season, Neymar has scored 11 goals in as many games for PSG.

Despite his good form for the side, talk of a move away has persisted.
