Napoli ultras then decided to continue the fighting into this afternoon building up to the game.

The two sides ended up drawing their match 1-1 in what is a great result for the German side.

Matteo Politano opened the scoring for the home side in the 39th minute.

However, Chelsea loanee David Fofana turned in a saved shot in the 52nd minute to rescue a point.

Before the game, Napoli were heavily backed to make light work of Union Berlin at home tonight.

The reigning Serie A champions Napoli sit second in Group C of the Champions League with two wins from four appearances.

Their only loss coming at the hands of Real Madrid in a 3-2 thriller at home last month.

Rudi Garcia’s side did have a golden opportunity to all but solidify their place in second with a victory against the winless Union Berlin at home tonight, but the wait will go on.
