Naby Keita has sent a message to Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp by scoring a sensational goal for Guinea on international duty.
The Premier League champions are staring at an injury crisis, with defensive partnership Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez out.
While top-scorer Mohamed Salah has Covid-19 to join Andy Robertson, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Jordan Henderson in absence this week.
It has left some fearing if the Reds will have enough firepower when they come up against league leaders Leicester.
But footage has emerged of Keita taking the chance to impress during Guinea’s AFCON qualifier against Chad.
In the clip, there are 23 minutes on the clock at the Stade Omnisports Idriss Mahamat Ouya.
And the Liverpool midfielder, who has not feature in the Premier League since the 7-2 loss to Aston Villa, intercepts a ball on the edge of the penalty box.
Despite having options to pass, the 25-year-old has nothing else on his mind except for a shot on target.
There is nothing Chad’s goalkeeper can do as the ball flies into the top-right corner, leaving the whole Guinea team stunned.
And they surround Keita as he wheels away in celebration, remaining top of their group despite conceding an equaliser.
This footage was shared on the Reds’ official Twitter channel, where the Anfield faithful made a suggestion to Klopp.
“Klopp, start him,” one supporter said.
Another commented: “Give him a chance.”
While a third suggested who else should make the grade against Leicester, with: “Play him, Gini [Georginio Wijnaldum] and Thiago [Alcantara]”
And a fourth simply added: “Start him.”
A fifth called out an error from Klopp, with: “All of the Liverpool players have scored goals with their country, but in Liverpool they sit on the bench. This is definitely a mistake from Jurgen.”
With the Reds sporting so many injuries, Daily Star Sport have taken a look at how the side could line up against the Foxes.
