In an revelation that should shock absolutely no one, Inter Miami forward Lionel Messi's shirt is the top selling jersey in MLS right now.
Since departing Paris Saint Germain at the end of last season to join David Beckham's MLS franchise, Messi has taken the US by storm, producing impressive performances aplenty following his stateside move. Prior to his arrival in Miami, the MLS side were the worst team in the Eastern Conference.
Fast forward to now and Messi has helped Miami claim their first ever title in the form of the Leagues Cup last month, as well as playing a pivotal role in their run to the U.S. Open Cup final, which they recently lost to Houston Dynamo 2-1. And since his arrival, Messi's Miami shirt has been flying off shelves across America, with the legendary Argentine's jersey sales topping the MLS' best selling shirt list for 2023.

But while MLS does count a number of former Premier League stars like ex-Liverpool ace Xherdan Shaqiri, the names that rank just behind Messi may come as a surprise to fans across the pond. Coming in second on the list of most popular shirts is St. Louis City striker Joao Klauss, who joined the MLS side from Hoffenheim last year.
The Brazilian targetman, who made just 10 appearances for the Bundesliga side, has bagged eight goals in 16 games this term, helping St. Louis to the top spot in MLS' Western Conference so far this season. Third place is taken up by Nashville SC's Hany Mukhtar, who last season was crowned MLS MVP for the 2022 campaign.

Fourth on the top 25 list is Austin FC star Sebastian Driussi, who was also a contender for MLS MVP last term thanks to his 22 goals in 34 games for the Western Conference side. And rounding out the top five is former Arsenal forward Carlos Vela, who has been scoring goals for fun for LAFC since moving there back in 2018 from Real Sociedad.
Other notable names on the list include ex-Manchester United star Javier Hernandez, who ranks 12th on the top 25 list, with former Barcelona maestro Sergio Busquets, who now plays for Inter Miami coming in a spot lower than the former in 13th place. Another former Barcelona star, Riqui Puig, also cracks the top 25, with the LA Galaxy midfielder ranking 15th.
