Bournemouth fans have been sending well wishes to Darren Randolph after the goalkeeper fell ill on Tuesday.
The 50-cap former Republic of Ireland stopper – who shares two children with X-Factor-winner Alexandra Burke – was preparing to represent the club's under-21 side against their Ipswich Town counterparts on Tuesday evening when he suddenly came down with something. It's understood Randolph laid down on the pitch and was stretchered off by medics to receive attention.
The 36-year-old – who was due to start – was treated on-field before being taken off, delaying the Professional Development League fixture by 10 minutes as a result. Bournemouth under-21s managers Alan Connell provided an update after the match and confirmed Randolph was cleared to return home.

"Darren Randolph felt unwell in the warm-up and needed medical attention," former Cherries forward Connell told the Bournemouth Daily Echo. "All the medical team were straight on to help him, which was great.
"Pleased that he is back in now and feeling much better and left the stadium of his own accord. We're really happy with the outcome. It's a shame he didn't play tonight but obviously his health is the most important thing."
Randolph joined Bournemouth in January 2023 but is yet to make a senior appearance for the club. The Bray native moved to the south coast after his second stint with West Ham came to an end, having previously represented Birmingham City, Middlesbrough and Motherwell.
Randolph started his professional career at Charlton Athletic, where he was loaned to the likes of Bury, Gillingham, Accrington Stanley and Hereford United. These days, the veteran spends most of his time mentoring younger players and promoting the Darren Randolph Academy, which aims to coach goalkeeping prospects in his native Ireland.

Ipswich emerged as 3-1 winners at the Vitality Stadium to prevent Bournemouth from leapfrogging QPR to the Professional Development League summit. The defeat in Randolph's absence ended a 12-game unbeaten run for the Cherries under-21s, the kind of form their senior side could only dream of at present.
