Mansfield admin brutally trolls Crewe fan with ‘warra win from your boys’ tweet

A Crewe supporter has been left with egg on his face after being savaged by Mansfield's official Twitter account following the Stags' 2-1 win at the weekend.

The two sides met at the Mornflake Stadium on Saturday with the visitors coming from a goal behind to snatch all three points with a 93rd-minute winner.

To celebrate the result, Mansfield's Twitter admin poked fun their opponents, accusing a Crewe player of taking his boot off to waste time while they were leading, only to watch his side concede two late goals.

One Crewe fan, Jonty, took issue with the post, insisting there was a "handball in the build-up" to one of Mansfield's goals and even accused Nigel Clough's side of bribing the referee.

In response, the admin tore him a new one, posting a screenshot of the 'updated' scoreline, joking that Crewe had in fact sealed a 3-2 win courtesy of a "handball in the build up to the goals" and "Jonty from Crewe says we paid the ref", along with the caption: "Warra win from your boys".

In just 24 hours the post received over 23,000 likes, with Mansfield fans in particularly absolutely loving the barb.

"Whoever our new admin is, keep it up," tweeted one supporter, while another wrote: "Our admin been stepping up their bantz. Love to see it." A third wrote: "Admin I hope you get a pay rise," while a fourth said: "RIP Jonty."

Some criticised the account for prompting an "unnecessary pile on", but most people seemed to see the funny side.

The late win saw Mansfield leap up to sixth place in League Two, four points above Crewe, who were relegated form League One last season.
