Manchester United 'have run out of patience with Anthony Martial'

Manchester United ‘have run out of patience with Anthony Martial’ and will ‘sell the Frenchman this summer’ after he blanked Erik ten Hag when he was subbed during crucial win over Bournemouth

  • Anthony Martial stormed into the tunnel after being taken off at Bournemouth
  • Man United have reportedly lost patience with the Frenchman and will sell him
  • Martial has scored eight goals in 27 games across all competitions this season

Manchester United have run out of Patience with Anthony Martial and will sell him this summer, according to reports.

The Frenchman has failed to make an impact for Erik ten Hag’s side this season after suffering a number of injuries and has played just 19 Premier League games.

Martial has struggled with problems relating to his hip, hamstring, back and Achilles this term and his future at the club look to be in doubt.

The 27-year-old failed to acknowledge Ten Hag after being substituted for Wout Weghorst during the 1-0 win over Bournemouth on Saturday.

As reported by The Sun, United will look to cash in on him this summer as the hierarchy have become fed up, with Ten Hag in agreement.

The Frenchman blanked Erik ten Hag and walked straight down the tunnel at Bournemouth

The Dutch manager revealed Martial eventually returned to the bench at Bournemouth having walked straight down the tunnel in frustration.

‘I think he played well, he returned to the bench, he’s OK,’ Ten Hag told talkSPORT. ‘I think he just shot into the dressing room, I don’t know what you want to make from it.’

Martial has registered eight goals and three assists in 27 appearances this season.

The Frenchman is still under contract until 2024 and is reportedly on wages of around £240,000-a-week.

He has endured an inconsistent spell in Manchester after joining the club for an initial £36million in 2015 and spent the latter half of last season on loan at Sevilla.

The win over Gary O’Neil’s side has put United on the brink of returning to the Champions League next season ahead of Thursday’s clash with Chelsea.

Ten Hag added: ‘It’s a final on Thursday and I hope all the fans are ready for it because we want to get that done on Thursday. We therefore need another good performance and that will not be easy.

‘You have to be ready, you have to be on the front foot, you have to be at the highest energy levels. You need to focus.

‘And then it’s possible. We know that we are strong, especially at Old Trafford.’
