Man Utd’s Williams should force Leeds United move in January, says top agent

Manchester United star Brandon Williams would be 'absolutely mental' not to force a move to Leeds United in January.

It comes after the arrival of Alex Telles, who looks set to take over from Luke Shaw as first-choice left-back at Old Trafford.

That would push Williams down the third in line despite looking decent during his outings for the club.

And it comes at a critical time for the Englishman, who was handed his debut by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer last season.

Williams went on to feature an impressive 36 times, with the Red Devils going deep into the FA Cup and Europa League.

But after Telles signed, the 20-year-old could see his game-time dramatically decrease.

It comes during a high-ranking agent told the Athletic that January will include a lot of loan moves.

He said: "Younger lads that didn’t go on loan will force a move.

"The Carabao Cup is out of the window for the next two months as the rounds have already been played."

And Williams was singled out, adding: "Brandon Williams doesn’t want to be No. 3 left-back at United.

"He would be absolutely mental to not go somewhere like Leeds or Southampton.

"Or a top-half Championship club.”

The arrival of Telles comes just a couple of months after Williams signed a new contract at Old Trafford.

At the time, he said: “Having been at Manchester United since I was seven years old, it’s genuinely a dream come true to be playing in the first team.
