Man Utd trio make feelings known to Sancho after outcast ‘crossed the line’

Three Manchester United stars have urged Jadon Sancho to apologise to Erik ten Hag to bury the hatchet and end his indefinite exile.

The £73million forward is training alone after being banished from the first team when he accused Ten Hag of lying after the Dutchman claimed Sancho's training levels were unacceptable ahead of United's trip to Arsenal at the start of the month. Sancho has refused to apologise and looks certain for a January exit, but team-mates Marcus Rashford, Luke Shaw and Harry Maguire are trying to talk him round.

According to The Mirror, a source close to the squad said: "Jadon's team-mates have been telling him to back down and say sorry to the boss. They want him to apologise. They sympathise with him and the way he feels, but recognise a line was crossed with what he posted."

While in exile, Sancho has been barred from all first-team facilities, including the dining room and the gym. It's understood United are prepared to sell the 23-year-old, who they signed from Dortmund just two years ago, at a significant loss in January just to get him out of the club.

The source further claimed that the situation between Sancho and Ten Hag is "at an impasse". They also said that unless the England international swallows his pride and apologises he won't play for the club ever again so long as the former Ajax head coach is in charge.

The Red Devils have made a poor start to the season, with off-field controversies and injuries blighting the opening stages of the campaign. Sancho's absence at right wing has hit the club hard, especially with fellow right-winger Antony currently on leave amid an investigation into allegations of assault.

But in spite of a jarring lack of options, Ten Hag sees Sancho's exile as a net positive as he doesn't want to risk a disillusioned player spreading negativity and disharmony within the squad. Sancho has played 82 times for United, scoring 12 goals. He made three appearances this season prior to his falling out with the manager, all of which were from the substitutes bench.
