Manchester United star Anthony Elanga has hailed the return of Cristiano Ronaldo. The veteran returned to Old Trafford on deadline day, 12 years after he walked away from the club. And everybody associated with the Red Devils is excited to see the 36-year-old in action, with his second debut likely to come against Newcastle next Saturday.
Manchester United had originally not intended to sign Ronaldo this summer.
But when it became clear he was willing to leave Juventus, and a move to Manchester City looked on, they then made their move.
United acted with speed and efficiency, agreeing a fee with the Serie A giants before then proceeding to thrash out personal terms with Ronaldo himself.
Now the forward is back at Old Trafford, many supporters and members of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad are excited about the future.
And youngster Elanga, speaking to Fotbollskanalen, has claimed he’s ‘heard’ Ronaldo speaks a lot with younger players and is looking forward to learning from him.
“I was starstruck when I heard he was coming to United,” he said.

“But I have calmed myself down a little now.
“I will be looking at everything with Ronaldo. How he does what he does, what he does before and after training. I’ll be asking the questions any other person would.
“He’s won everything with United and knows what it takes to play for the club. He’s a legend.
“I have heard he speaks a lot with young players and I look forward to meeting him.”
Elanga was linked with a move away from United after shining in pre-season.
But he’ll now instead stay at the club and challenge Ronaldo for a starting berth in Solskjaer’s side.

Ronaldo, meanwhile, recently admitted he was delighted to be back at United.
“Well, as you know, I have a fantastic history with this amazing club,” he told club media after his arrival.
“I was there at 18 years old and of course I’m so happy to be back home after 12 years.
“So I’m really glad and looking forward to start my first game.
“I think it’s the best decision that I have made it. It’s right on point in my opinion.
“I moved from Juve now to Manchester, it’s a new chapter, I’m so happy and glad, and I want to carry on again, to make history, to try to help Manchester achieve great results, to win trophies and number one of them, to win great things.”
Ronaldo also opened up on Sir Alex Ferguson’s involvement in his return, as well as revealing he’s already talked with Solskjaer.
“As everybody knows, since I signed for Manchester [United] at 18, Sir Alex Ferguson was the key,” he said.
“I remember when we played against Manchester when I was at Sporting Lisbon. For me, Sir Alex Ferguson is like a father in football for me.
“He helped me a lot, he taught me many things, and in my opinion of course he had a big role because the relationship that we had, we keep in touch all the time, and he’s an unbelievable person.
“I really like him a lot and he was the main key for me to be in the position that I am, that I signed for Manchester United.
“We [himself with Solskjaer] had a chat, but of course I’m going to have time to speak with him face to face, to know what he expects.
“As you know, I played with him for two or three years at Manchester United so I have a good relationship with him but now with a different role, I’m a player and he’s a coach.
“But it doesn’t matter, my relationship with him is great and as I say before, I’m there in Manchester to help the team achieve his results and the coach can count on me for whatever he wants.
“So I’m available for everything.”
Ronaldo scored 118 goals for United during his first spell there.
