Manchester United reportedly took drastic measures to improve Jadon Sancho’s punctuality – by giving him the wrong start time for training.
Sancho’s days at Old Trafford look numbered following a public fallout with manager Erik ten Hag, who left the winger out of his squad for the Premier League clash at Arsenal after claiming his standards had dropped in training.
Sancho hit back with an incendiary statement on social media, rubbishing Ten Hag’s comments and claiming he had been made a “scapegoat” for United’s erratic start to the season. The post remained pinned to the top of his X (formerly Twitter) account for more than a week before being taken down.
But it appears the damage has been done, with United set to try and offload the former Borussia Dortmund ace in January. It has emerged that Ten Hag’s issues with Sancho date back to last season when, it is claimed, he was often late to training.

According to The Athletic, United resorted to setting him a training schedule one hour earlier than the rest of the squad. The reports adds that the plan had ‘some initial success’ before Sancho ‘fell into familiar patterns’.
Following the recent row, United were prepared to let Sancho leave during the summer window, but despite Saudi interest, a move failed to materialise.
During the international break, Sancho flew to the United States and has been pictured at a birthday party for NBA star John Wall.

It is understood Ten Hag and Sancho are struggling to settle their differences due to the lack of trust between the pair. Even the current absence of fellow winger Antony, due to allegations of domestic abuse, which he denies, is not expected to boost Sancho’s chances of returning to the starting line-up.
Ten Hag is ruthless when it comes to dealing with players he thinks will not succeed, or have become a bad influence around the squad and it appears inevitable he will depart in January.
