Eric Cantona has paid a surprise visit to a famous Manchester pub to celebrate its reopening.
Cantona, a Man United legend, stopped by the Peveril of the Peak after filming an advert at the iconic watering hole on Thursday.
Looking his usual picture of sartorial elegance, Cantona was snapped wearing a snazzy three-piece suit for the advert that will air during the European Championship.
Although the Frenchman didn’t have time to glug a pint himself, he did find a minute to pose for photos with delighted staff.
Nadim Hammad, manager of the Peveril of the Peak, was delighted at having Cantona drop in.
"He'd been down here all morning filming,” Hammad told the Manchester Evening News.
"He was lovely and really down to earth. Nancy the owner brought down some United memorabilia and he signed it all for her.
"Then we got him behind the bar for some pictures. Apparently, he used to come in years ago when he was at United.
"He would come down for the table football so he recognised the place.
"It was just nice to have people milling about the pub again. I think we all felt a bit giddy afterwards."

Twitter users were delighted at Cantona’s appearance in the Peveril and recalled seeing him in the pub in the past.
One wrote: “I remember seeing him playing Babyfoot there one night in early 90s. Manchester Poly mountaineering club used to meet in that room every Thursday.”
“I chatted to him for most of an evening once in Manchester, thinking he was just the husband of a regular in the bar my lodger worked in. He was all that, and charming and witty. I did wonder why so many people were staring,” recalled another.
