Old Trafford welcomed back a forgotten ex-Manchester United forward just hours before their weekend clash against Luton Town.
Back in 2004, Man United paid £500,000 to bring Chinese striker Dong Fangzhuo from Dalian Shide, who no longer exist, to Old Trafford. And on Saturday afternoon, the now 38-year-old returned to the club for the first time since he left back in 2008.
On social media, United posted a photo of Fangzhuo on the touchline at Old Trafford. They captioned the post: "Good to seen you again, Dong." He was also filmed chatting to his former team-mate Wes Brown too over on Instagram too.

"Haha! How are you? You good? Good to see you, you look well," Brown told Fangzhuo as the pair shared a hug before kick-off. And it seems fans on social media were happy to see the Chinese forward return to Old Trafford, despite him having only made one Premier League appearance for the club during his time at United.
One fan said: "Good to see him." A second added: "Never forget this iconic guard of honour…"

A third said: "Dong Fangzhou goddaaaaaaamn man I feel old as f*** now." A fourth commented by reposting a photo of Man United getting a guard of honour at Chelsea, which was the only game Fangzhuo started for the club in the Premier League: "One of the most iconic guard of honours there'll ever be and at Stamford Bridge too. Look at Terry's face."
And a fifth joked, saying: "I go to Old Trafford every game with my Dong shirt and a cardboard sign, hoping to get it signed by the legend. And today of all days I’m in China looking for him…"

As mentioned above, Fangzhuo was famously part of a weakened United line-up that received a guard of honour at Stamford Bridge from Chelsea following their title win during the 2006/07 season.
While the game ended 0-0, the Chinese forward started the contest alongside former United manager and Champions League hero Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in attack, before being replaced by Wayne Rooney on 73 minutes.
