Manchester United fans were left raging after Manchester City were awarded a penalty which Gary Neville labelled "a little soft".
VAR intervened in the first half at Old Trafford after Rodri had complained of a pull back in the box by Rasmus Hojlund. Referee Paul Tierney was sent to the monitor to review the incident.
And he subsequently pointed to the spot, with Erling Haaland stepping up and sending Andre Onana the wrong way to give the visitors the lead. Red Devils supporters watching on at home took to social media to vent their frustrations.

One argued: "VAR is so inconsistent it’s a joke. Those go unpunished dozens of times a game." A second echoed: "That is a joke VAR call. Happens every single game in set pieces."
"A ridiculously soft penalty. Rodri throws himself to the floor to buy the decision," claimed a third, while a fourth questioned: "That’s a penalty nowadays? Football is fully done."

United legend Neville said: "I’ve looked at it four or five times and in slow motion it looks like a no brainer that it’s a penalty. In real time, he gets around him then lets go of Rodri and he throws himself to the ground like most players would.
"Personally, I think it’s a little bit soft and he is not going to get away with it, Hojlund. He has lost his man, he has wrapped his arm around him and he’s going to pay for it."
Mike Dean, meanwhile, was convinced it was the correct decision. "I have had two looks at it on my screen and as he’s gone to get the ball, Rodri clearly has a hand around his stomach – he’s definitely stopped the player getting to the ball," the former official concluded.
"I think even from both angles we can see that there is a clear hold and he’s stopping Rodri from getting to the ball."
The penalty was the first City have been awarded at Old Trafford since 1992 and therefore their first in the Premier League.
