Manchester United fans have found similarities in the traits of teenage sensation Amad and a young Lionel Messi. Amad impressed United fans during an open training session in Gdansk ahead of the Europa League final.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is awaiting his first final as United boss and aims to claim his first piece of silverware against Villarreal in Poland.
United have shown progress in the Premier League this season by finishing in second-place behind only Manchester City.
That progress would be validated with their first trophy since their last Europa League success under Jose Mourinho in 2017.
Solskjaer’s has evolved United’s team greatly since that triumph over Ajax four years ago and the Norwegian has continued the club’s proudest tradition of blooding young players.

Anthony Elanga, Shola Shoretire and Hannibal Mejbri are among the academy graduates to have been afforded opportunities in the latter part of the season.
But one youngster who has not risen through the youth ranks but is certainly catching the eye is 18-year-old forward Amad.
Amad has given glimpses of the future in a number of bright cameos since arriving from Atalanta in January.
And the youngster looked incredibly sharp at the Gdansk Arena as United were put through their paces before the final.

In one clip, Amad shows dancing feet to evade defenders before cooly slotting through for Daniel James in a training game. It was another glimpse of the player who continues to excite United fans, and some supporters even compared his skilful abilities to those of a Barcelona icon Messi at a young age.
“Amad plays like Messi, this ain’t over hyping a young player, no his weight of pass is just insane for an 18 years old, he does those slide rule pass messi does,” one fan tweeted.
“He’s the closest stylistically to Messi I’ve seen…,” a United supporter said.
“100%, no one will be as good as Messi but I definitely agree his play style is identical to an 18 year old Messi,” another agreed.
Amad is at an early stage in his development but he is clearly a player United fans are keeping firmly on their radar. Solskjaer could choose to utilise the youngster in the final, but the Ivorian is most likely to have to settle for a place on the bench in his first final as a United player.
