Manchester United’s pursuit of Jadon Sancho over the summer was well-documented, with the Red Devils looking to bring in an established right winger. However, the move failed to materialise and the likes of Mason Greenwood, Marcus Rashford, Daniel James and Juan Mata have all been used out wide on the right this season.
However, James and Mata have not been regulars in the starting line-up, Rashford has been more commonly used on the left or through the middle and Greenwood’s future is thought to lie as a central striker rather than as a winger.
As a result, United may once again attempt to sign an established right winger in the summer and reports have linked them with a move for Leeds United star Raphinha.
Italian journalist Gianluigi Longaria is reporting that United are interested in signing the 24-year-old, who has impressed for Leeds this season.
Since making the move from Rennes, Raphinha has netted four goals and provided five assists in 18 Premier League appearances.

Liverpool have also been linked with the Brazilian but Leeds are said to be desperate to keep him.
Raphinha has previously played alongside United star Bruno Fernandes at Sporting Lisbon and Fernandes is a big fan of the winger.
Speaking to Top Mercato in December 2019, Fernandes explained that he had a “different chemistry” with the forward, saying: “Raphinha, I miss Raphinha.
“He’s a player with whom I had a different chemistry from the others.

“He understood me at a glance. He knew, according to the movement of my body, where I was going to put the ball to him.
“I also miss him because he brought joy to the locker room. He’s also a responsible and hardworking person.”
Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa recently labelled Raphinha a “complete player”, saying: “Victor [Orta] has a way of doing things which is very extensive and he’s very thorough in how he goes into the minute details.
“Why has Raphinha done so well for Leeds?
“He’s had the opportunity to see what the Premier League is all about and then been able to do what’s required of him.
“He’s a player with physical, technical and mental resources which have allowed him to compete and has good physical attributes for his position.
“He’s quick and he can sustain that over a long distance. Raphinha is also a winger who can dribble and knows when to attack the space in behind. He’s a complete player.”
