Man Utd: Solskjaer delighted to kick off 2021 with win
Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer appears to have settled on a select group of players in his squad that he thinks can fire the Red Devils to the title. That has left him with the tricky task of offloading the deadwood still at the club.
Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reportedly set to hold talks with six players over a potential January exit.
Solskjaer is expected to trim down his bloated squad this month, having failed to utilise many of the members on the fringe of his squad.
According to the Sun, the Norwegian is ready to offload six current first team stars, either on loan or permanently, in order to focus on those he believes are up to the task of challenging for the title.
Third choice goalkeeper Sergio Romero is expected to finally leave the club.
As may fellow Argentine Marcos Rojo, who has come nowhere near to challenging for a place in Solskjaer’s defence this season; Newcastle are reportedly targeting the versatile defender.
Phil Jones could also head out of the exit door after almost a year without playing, mostly due to injury, with struggling West Brom believed to be keen.
Meanwhile, Jesse Lingard and Dan James will most likely be targeted for loan moves, having fallen down the pecking order.
