Man City duo on Arsenal’s radar; Xhaka looking to leave, and Odegaard latest

After a disastrous season, Arsenal are set for a major squad overhaul, with Mikel Arteta's first full season at the helm of the Gunners yielding lacklustre performances.

Under Arteta, Arsenal failed to qualify for Europe for the first time in 25 years, and the Gunners spent the majority of the season outside the top half of the league.

Arteta wants a major overhaul in his playing squad with several new additions to fire the Gunners back into Europe.

And Daily Star Sport has rounded up all the Gunners headlines you need to know about for the upcoming summer transfer window.

Raising the funds

Granit Xhaka is set to sign for Roma, and confirmation could come before the start of the Euro's, according to football.london.

Arteta convinced Xhaka to stay after the Swiss international had agreed terms with Hertha Berlin in January 2020, however, he now looks set to leave.

Xhaka isn't the only player who could be shown the door.

Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Matteo Guendouzi and Lucas Torreira will follow Xhaka out the door.

City duo on Arsenal's radar

Following their Champions League defeat, Manchester City are looking to reinvigorate their squad, and it could mean the departure of Raheem Sterling and Riyad Mahrez.

According to The Daily Mail, Arsenal are interested in their services, and Arteta worked with both players when he was assistant at City.

However, without European football, it will be difficult to attract players of their calibre.

Odegaard latest

The Norwegian is top of Arsenal's shopping list after spending the second half of the campaign on loan in North London.

However, the resignation of Zinedine Zidane at Real Madrid complicates matters, and the incoming manager may see Odeegard as an integral part of his Madrid squad.

Despite this, he remains Arteta's number one target.
