Liverpool have even more reason to be angry about decisions going against them in their 2-1 defeat to Tottenham last week with a Premier League panel reportedly ruling Diogo Jota’s red card as an incorrect decision. It proved to be an eventful afternoon at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last week as Liverpool finished the game with nine men and had a goal wrongfully ruled out for offside with Joel Matip scoring a last-minute own goal to give the hosts all three points.
Liverpool were livid at the final whistle with their main frustration focused on Luis Diaz’s wrongful offside.
PGMOL admitted afterwards that ‘significant human error’ led to the goal being disallowed with audo of the exchange between VAR and the match officials being released earlier this week.
