Wolves 2-1 Manchester City: Blues' winning streak stopped at Molineux
Manchester City legend Vincent Kompany has put his limited edition Ford Mustang up for sale, and anyone with a cool £59,999 lying around can buy it. The Belgian banked millions from a glittering playing career, and he is in the process of trying to find similar success as a manager.
Recruited by City just over a week before Sheikh Mansour’s lucrative takeover, Kompany established himself as a club hero over almost a decade on the club’s books, winning four Premier League titles and six domestic cups.
The towering former centre-back left the Sky Blues for a brief spell in his homeland with Anderlecht in 2019 – firstly as a player and then as a head coach. Kompany has since brought his managerial skills back to familiar shores, leading Burnley to promotion from the Championship.
Things are off to a less than ideal start in the top flight, however. Kompany has overseen a run of just one point in the Clarets’ first six games this term, leaving them winless and in the bottom three.

Perhaps in search of a new good-luck charm, the 37-year-old recently listed his limited edition 2008 Ford Mustang Shelby GT-California on Auto Trader, via DSH Motors. One of only 215 such cars ever made, fans will be able to snap up Kompany’s outgoing motor if they meet his eye-watering asking price.
The former City star equipped the rare find with a Ford Racing Power Upgrade Package. It may not have been his daily runaround, however, as the Mustang is up for sale with only 3,000 miles on the clock.

Kompany’s bright orange pride and joy was originally due to go under the hammer in 2019, and again in 2020, with the value having increased significantly over the past few years.
Results on the pitch suggest that the sale of the former Belgian international’s big-money Mustang is some way down his priority list at present, although he remained optimistic after the 2-0 defeat to Newcastle United on Saturday.
“From our side, we have to take our moments,” he said. “In the end it’s about results, but performances bring results. The starting fixtures have been tough on us, that means maybe we’ll recover when fixtures are better for us later in the season.
“The key thing when you have a lot of new players is that you’re looking for a team performance. In the end, especially when you play in a league where a lot of the other sides are better than you, you have to rely on the team to get results.
“We’re starting to see that, certainly in the last four or five games that we’ve played. We should get a chance to have our moments against the better sides, and I believe that will come.”
