Keylor Navas 'aims to stay in Premier League with FOUR clubs keen'

Keylor Navas ‘is set to stay in Premier League with FOUR clubs interested in 36-year-old keeper’… as PSG stopper prepares to end loan spell at Nottingham Forest having helped keep them up

  • Keylor Navas played a key role in Nottingham Forest’s successful survival bid
  • The veteran joined on loan in January but is unlikely to make a permanent move
  • Navas, 36, is reportedly keen on remaining in the Premier League next season

Keylor Navas has targeted remaining in the Premier League when his loan spell at Nottingham Forest ends, with four clubs reportedly keen to sign the veteran goalkeeper.

The three-time Champions League winner completed a deadline day loan move to Forest in January from Paris St Germain.

Navas moved to the Premier League club having fallen out of favour in Paris, with Gianluigi Donnarumma established as the French champions first choice goalkeeper.

The 36-year-old has played a key role in keeping Forest in the top flight, playing 17 matches with Dean Henderson having missed the second half of the season through injury.

According to French outlet Foot Mercato, Navas has prioritised remaining in the Premier League when his loan ends, but his salary demands and ambitions are likely to rule out a permanent move to the City Ground.

Chelsea and Tottenham have reportedly expressed an interest in the 110-cap Costa Rican international.

With the futures of Edouard Mendy and Kepa Arrizabalaga uncertain, Chelsea are expected to reinforce their goalkeeping options ahead of the 2023-24 campaign.

Both Chelsea and Spurs are reportedly also keen on signing David Raya, with the latter seeking a replacement for Hugo Lloris, who is considering an offer from Al Hilal in Saudi Arabia.

Navas has also been viewed as an option for Brentford should Raya leave the club, while Leicester are also claimed to be keen on signing the 36-year-old.

Daniel Iversen has been the Foxes first choice in recent weeks, with the Danish goalkeeper replacing Danny Ward after his uncertain displays.

A move to Leicester would depend on the club preserving their Premier League status, with the Foxes currently two points from safety heading into the final weekend of the season.

Navas told Canal+ last month that he still believes he is capable of playing for a team in the Champions League.

‘I feel capable of playing in any team, and we will see, in the future, what’s going on,’ Navas said.

Four Premier League clubs are reportedly keen on Navas, who has a year left on his PSG deal

‘If I have to go back and play, I feel capable of winning the Champions League with PSG.

‘When I was there, we had the opportunity. We played in a final that the club had never reached before.’

Navas, who has played 108 times for PSG, has one year remaining on his contract with the French champions.

The veteran joined the club in 2019 from Real Madrid, where he had secured three consecutive Champions League titles.
