While Manchester City were celebrating their second strike of the day, scorer Bernardo Silva pointed out the missing fang.
Alvarez held his hand to his mouth and looked rather surprised, suggesting that he had just lost the chomper.
In attack, City were far from toothless as they put six goals past the Cherries.
Alongside Silva’s double, Jeremy Doku, Manuel Akanji, Phil Foden, and Nathan Ake got in on the act.
The precise whereabouts of Alvarez’s tooth, perhaps still at large on the Etihad turf, is unknown.
