Jurgen Klopp has suggested Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson will be out of action for a prolonged period of time following his injury.
The Reds star was forced off against Everton with an apparent groin injury with the Toffees going on to win the clash.
Henderson had been playing on defence following serious injuries to Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez.
Fabinho, Joel Matip and James Milner are also nursing knocks on the sidelines with the reigning Premier League champions suffering at the back – and it’s not getting any better.
Scans will likely be needed on Henderson’s injury with Klopp admitting that it does not appear to be a minor issue.
The boss said: “Tough things happen like Hendo today getting injured. Tough one to take, it doesn’t look like a little one unfortunately.
“But we will go through this and in the end succeed, we will see when that happens.
“It’s the groin/adductor region and nobody in the medical department was positive about it. It doesn’t look good, but we have to wait, of course, for the scan tomorrow, hopefully.
"Decisive margins, to score a goal you have to create a situation and finish it off. There is no alternative but to keep going.
“You concede which is not cool, lose Jordan Henderson which is not cool and I feel the boys dealt with it quite well, could they deal with it better? Maybe. We will keep going."
Everton secured their first win at Anfield since 1999, with Liverpool having lost four home Premier League games in a row.
Klopp added: "It is (tough to take) but we conceded this early goal which was completely unnecessary and have to defend it better.

“We had to chase the game and did it well creative wise, we created some in the first half and even more in the second half but we did not finish our situations off.
"We made one mistake in the first half and they used it, I don't like to talk today about the good stuff because we lose the game and we feel that deeply, I have to use it tomorrow and it is our lifeline to keep going.
“We have to improve on the finishing stuff and then we will win football games."
