Manchester United continue to have an interest in Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho, one year after transfer talks broke down. Sancho has starred since moving to the Bundesliga club from Manchester City, helping the Black and Yellow to win the DFB-Pokal this season, their first major trophy in four years.
The winger has an impressive record since breaking into Dortmund’s first team, scoring 50 goals and notching 63 assists in all competitions.
Though his season was interrupted by a muscle injury, Sancho still impressed for Dortmund, scoring eight goals and providing 12 assists to help his side recover from a poor start to finish in the top four.
Those contributions have long interested United, who are searching for a solution to their problem right winger position.
There are still question marks over Mason Greenwood’s best position long-term, while Anthony Martial and Dan James have failed to show the quality needed to become regular starters.

That led to the Red Devils attempting to sign Sancho last summer, but after they failed to match Dortmund’s £100million asking price, the deal broke down.
However, with only two years left on his current deal and with Sancho’s desire to return to England, Dortmund appear set to sell him this summer.
United are once again the main contenders to sign the 21-year-old, who has been selected for England’s provisional Euro 2020 squad.
In a major boost to the Red Devils’ hopes of completing a deal this time around, Dortmund have reportedly slashed their asking price.

That is according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, who stated that the Bundesliga side are now looking for a fee between £77m and £81m for Sancho.
“Keep an eye always on the Jadon Sancho situation,” Romano told the Here We Go podcast.
“Because the price is confirmed so a bit less than €100m – around €90m-€95m for Jadon Sancho – but at the moment, Manchester United have not done an official bid yet.”
Romano also claimed that United are already in contact with Sancho’s agent, with the winger keen to test himself in the Premier League.
Despite those discussions though, it was also stated that no official bid has yet been lodged by the Red Devils.
“So they are interested? Yes. In touch with people around Sancho? Yes. But no official bid,” Romano said.
With United aiming to challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title next season, Sancho has been identified as one of the reinforcements needed to take them to that level.
Dortmund’s slashing of their valuation will almost certainly improve United’s chances, with a gentlemen’s agreement in place to allow Sancho to leave under certain conditions.
