The Glazers have refused to back down on their $10billion valuation of Manchester United – and will not sell the club unless someone meets the asking price.

And with no-one willing to spend this amount on buying United, it looks like the hated Glazers will remain as owners of the English giants.

The news will send supporters into meltdown – because the majority of them want the controversial Americans out of the club. But the Glazers have no desire to sell United, unless someone is prepared to make a bid close to the $10billion (£8bn) mark.

The Floridian billionaires let it be known in November they were willing to discuss the full sale of the club or potential investment.

But despite strong interest from Sheikh Jassim of Qatar and Sir Jim Ratcliffe, neither of them are willing to meet the Glazers' ultimate sale price.

A sale close to $10billion would make United the most valuable sports team in the world. NFL giants the Dallas Cowboys are currently No.1 on this list after being valued at $8 billion.

Should the Glazer's sell up? Or are they entitled to do whatever they like with the club? Let us know in the comments section below.

The New England Patriots are said to be worth $6.4 billion, with the New York Yankees baseball franchise valued at $6 billion. The Glazers took charge of United in 2005 in a deal costing them almost £800m, but have gone on to become despised by the club's fans.

Despite the club's overall debt continuing to rise, the Glazers have continued to pay themselves huge annual dividends since 2016, despite the team's lack of titles and major trophies in that same time.

A sit-in protest by supporters took place at Old Trafford last week, with those involved urging the Glazers to finally sell up. And the latest revelations are guaranteed to see more protests staged during the course of his season.
