Nottingham Forest’s owner allegedly tossed his match pass into a bush after watching his side get dismantled by Fulham.

Evangelos Marinakis was at Craven Cottage to see if Forest could buck their recent poor run and ease the pressure on head coach Steve Cooper. However, the Reds’ season plunged to new depths as they were hammered 5-0 by Marco Silva’s side.

Alex Iwobi and Raul Jimenez both hit braces while Tom Cairney grabbed the other as the Cottages ran riot. After the match, Cooper accused his side of a lack of desire and fight.

And it seems Marinakis, who also owns Greek giants Olympiacos, shared Cooper’s view. Shortly after the final whistle, a Fulham fan claimed to have found the Forest owner’s match pass after leaving Craven Cottage.

With a picture of said pass, the fan, Dom Manning, posted on X (formerly Twitter): “Found this thrown on a bush in someone’s front garden just outside Craven Cottage… someone clearly left in a strop…”

If true, it seems Marinakis’ patience with Cooper is weighing thin and it would be no surprise if the former Swansea boss is sacked before Saturday’s visit to Wolves. The Welshman inherited a Forest side that was struggling badly in the Championship just over two years ago.

He turned the team around and incredibly got them promoted back to the Premier League via the play-offs in his first season. Cooper found himself under pressure last season, but his popularity amongst the fans helped to keep him in a job before he led the side to safety.

However, recent defeats, especially the manner of them, could see his time at the City Ground brought to an end.
