Five Liverpool stars have reportedly been placed on the transfer list this summer with Jurgen Klopp eyeing a squad revamp at Anfield.

The Reds endured a miserable defence of their Premier League title in 2020/21, suffering a nightmare six straight home defeats after Christmas which ended their chances of retaining the crown.

They at least managed to come and strong towards the end of the campaign and secure a third-place finish, but Klopp will be desperate to take his side back to the top of English football next season.

He was not helped by injuries to a host of key players this term, with Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez both missing the majority of the season after sustaining major knee problems.

The likes of Jordan Henderson, Fabinho and Joel Matip also spent lengthy spells on the sidelines through injury.

Nevertheless, it is believed Klopp will undergo a squad rebuild at Anfield in the summer transfer window.

A number of potential targets are being mooted, yet before that five current players will first be shown the door on Merseyside.

Goal are reporting that Divock Origi is the first player on Liverpool's transfer list this summer, having only been afforded nine Premier League appearances this season.

Origi, who came off the bench and scored in their Champions League final win over Tottenham in 2019, has always been a squad player under Klopp, however he appears likely to depart over the coming months after seeing his game time plummet significantly in 2020/21.

Marko Grujic, who has not made a single appearance for the Reds since arriving in 2016, is also up for sale.

The Serbian midfielder has mainly been shipped out on loan since moving to Anfield, spending this season on the fringes of Porto's first team.

Another player set to depart Liverpool is Harry Wilson, who has been deemed surplus to requirements despite an impressive loan stint at Cardiff.

Forgotten goalkeeper Loris Karius is also poised to leave upon the expiry of his contract this summer, having spent the last two years on loan at Besiktas and Union Berlin following his pair of blunders in the 2018 Champions League final.

And the last star on Liverpool's transfer list is Taiwo Awoniyi, yet to make an appearance in six years at Liverpool, who will be available for around £8million.
