Fabinho saw the lighter side of Liverpool's Champions League defeat to Real Madrid – sharing a joke with Madrid President Florentino Perez in the tunnel after the match.
The Reds have it all to do in the second-leg of their quarter-final tie after a brace from Vinicius Junior and a goal from Marco Asensio gave Real Madrid a 3-1 aggregate lead.
Liverpool's players came in for heavy criticism after the match, with stars including Trent Alexander-Arnold and Alisson receiving the brunt of the blame on social media.
Nevertheless, Reds fans will be even less amused by the actions of Fabinho, who was snapped with a grin on his face in the company of Real Madrid President Perez.
Perez and Fabinho reportedly discussed the midfielder's short time at Castilla – Real Madrid's reserve team – for whom Fabinho played during the 2012-13 season.
"With us you played as a right-back," Perez recalled in conversation with the Brazilian star.
"Yes, but to play right-back now… What a player you have in Vinicius," Fabinho responded.
Fabinho has missed chunks of the campaign through injury but is still rated among one of Liverpool's players of the season.
The 27-year-old has featured 33 times in total this term as the Reds have floundered in the defence of their Premier League title.
Jurgen Klopp's men are 25 points behind leaders Man City and are facing a battle to qualify for next season's Champions League.
Liverpool returned to winning ways in the Premier League against Arsenal last Saturday and will be hoping to follow that up with three more vital points at home to Aston Villa on Saturday.
