Emi Martinez hits back at former Arsenal team-mate Lacazette on social media

Emiliano Martinez hit back at Alexandre Lacazette after the Arsenal striker vented his frustration following Arsenal's defeat to Aston Villa.

Mikel Arteta's suffered a second successive Premier League loss when they were undone by Ollie Watkins' winner in the second minute at Villa Park.

Lacazette appeared to be dragged to the ground by Villa keeper Martinez as the Gunners went in search of an equaliser.

But there was no penalty for Mikel Arteta's side, with referee Chris Kavanagh instead giving a free-kick against the forward.

Arteta blasted "big decisions" which hadn't gone Arsenal's way – hot on the heels of last week's defeat to Wolves, when David Luiz was sent off after inadvertently catching Willian Jose.

After Saturday's game, Lacazette was sent a clip via Twitter of the Martinez incident, with the striker replying: "Another one…"

But Martinez hit back at his former Gunners team-mate, saying: "You were pushing me first bro."

Arteta claimed refereeing decisions had cost his side during their successive defeats, saying: "Four or five times we’ve played with 10 men.

"Against Wolves, we deserved to win both games by far but we lost both.

"[Red cards] cost us that game [against Wolves] – today other big decisions. Regardless of what the referee did today we should win the game comfortably."

Martinez joined Villa in September after it became clear he would displace Bernd Leno as Arsenal's No1, despite having impressed during football's restart last summer.

January signing Mat Ryan was thrust into his debut in the Gunners goal, with Leno suspended after he joined Luiz in being given his marching orders against Wolves last week.

Ryan conceded just two minutes into his Arsenal debut, after Bertrand Traore capitalised on a poor pass from Cedric Soares and teed up Watkins, whose shot deflected in off Rob Holding.

The loss left Arsenal languishing in 10th place in the Premier League ahead of next Sunday's Emirates clash against Leeds United.
