Deschamps said: ‘Full marks boys for the first half. Lets have more of the same in the second. Keep things as simple as possible and whenever we can we score.
‘It’s 7-0, but there are no limits. I want the same determination from everybody.
‘The record is 10-0, out of interest, you could smash it. Don’t hold back boys’
And his side did just that when Veteran striker Olivier Giroud came off the bench to score twice, breaking the 13-0 record set by Germany against San Marino in 2006 for Euro 2008 qualifying.
Marcus Thuram, Jonathan Clauss, Youssouf Fofana, Adrien Rabiot and Ousmane Dembélé all scored for Les Bleus, while Giroud and Kingsley Coman grabbed a brace alongside Mbappe’s hattrick.
The second ranked side in the world had 39 attempts on goal, 19 of which were on target, while Gibraltar, who are ranked 198th, failed to muster a chance.
Les Bleus are unbeaten in Euro qualifiers and have already booked their place in the Germany next summer, however Gibraltar are yet to win or score throughout qualification.
