Cristiano Ronaldo has had his share of criticism from pundits and fans who didn’t like his move to Saudi Arabia, with some critics believing the Portugal superstar is ‘done’. But the Al-Nassr star’s latest heroics for his club proves there is still life in the Portugal superstar yet after leading the Saudi Pro League club to a 3-0 victory on Friday with a sensational goal.
Al-Nassr were comfortably leading 2-0 against Al Akhdoud in Riyadh after Ronaldo’s 77th-minute strike followed Sami Al-Najei putting the hosts in front early on.
The 38-year-old had already found the net once to continue his incredible scoring record, but he went one better with a goal that will surely go down in history as one of the league’s best-ever.
Just three minutes after getting on the scoresheet, a bouncing ball found its way to the veteran forward after the goalkeeper came charging out to clear a loose ball. Positioned some 40 yards out and with the goalkeeper in no man’s land, Ronaldo tried his luck.
The Portuguese superstar took his time and weighed up his angles before rifling the ball high up into the air, which loopied over the shellshocked opposition defenders.
And they looked aghast as they watched it bounce over the line and into the roof of the net, sparking wild celebrations from the former Real Madrid and Manchester United star.
Ronaldo has enough wonder goals from his career to make an entire anthology of Puskas contenders, but this one was certainly one that proved his talent has not eroded away just yet.

His brace against Al Akhdoud means he now has 29 goals in 29 Pro League matches since signing a mammoth two-year deal worth £344million with the Saudi outfit, with eight assists for his team-mates too.
There were doubts as to whether Ronaldo could keep up his incredible scoring record, with over 860 goals for club and country in his illustrious career.
Only back in September, critics had questioned whether he should still be playing – and Ronaldo hit back at those who doubted his ability.
“They say Ronaldo is done… but it’s not true. I will continue to play until my legs say: ‘Cristiano, I’m done’. I still have a lot,” he said. “I still love football and scoring goals. I still love winning. They say I’m done but I’m still proving that it’s not true.”
