Cristiano Ronaldo used to follow up double gym sessions in his first stint at Manchester United by tucking into a Nando's, former team-mate Eric Djemba-Djemba has recalled.
Ronaldo is back at United after sealing an emotional return to the club on the penultimate day of the summer transfer window, snubbing interest from neighbours Manchester City to pen a two-year deal with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side.
The 36-year-old is in line to make his second Red Devils debut against Newcastle at Old Trafford on Saturday – and Fred has revealed that he has already been "pushing everyone" on the training pitch this week.
One man who knows all too well about Ronaldo's relentless work ethic is Djemba-Djemba, who played alongside him for two years in Manchester.
The ex-Cameroon midfielder says CR7 would often complete two gym sessions either side of the team's training session that day, before following it up with a Nando's.

Djemba-Djemba told BritishGambler.co.uk: "Every day, he would arrive first so that he could go to the gym before training, then after training he’d want to go to the gym again!
"Sometimes I’d say ‘Cristiano, let’s go back home’, because sometimes we’d drive to training together and I’d drive him or he would drive me, and we’d go to eat at a restaurant – he introduced me to Nando's, and we’d go and have food together – he loved the chicken there, and I’d have spicy chicken."

Solskjaer revealed at his press conference on Friday that Ronaldo will definitely feature against Newcastle, although it is unclear whether that will be from the start or off the bench.
And the Portugal captain joked in an interview with ex-United defender Wes Brown this week that he will be pressuring his old team-mate to start him.
Cristiano Ronaldo not given fouls in Man Utd training to toughen him up
"I was so nervous on my debut. Of course I will be nervous on Saturday, but of course I'm more mature, more experienced," he said.
"I will be prepared, and I hope – I'm going to put pressure on Ole now, to be in the starting eleven! So I'm ready, I'm ready to go."
