Celtic’s stunning wonder-goal against Atletico Madrid left fans gushing over the “liquid football” on show.
The Scottish giants hosted Diego Simeone’s side at Celtic Park on Wednesday night in a Champions League group stage tie where they simply had to get some kind of a result. And Brendan Rodgers’ men got off to a sensational start as they took the lead just four minutes in thanks to Kyogo Furuhashi.
They did so in staggering fashion, with their attackers exchanging the ball with some silky one-touch passing. Kyogo had played a crucial role in the build-up before laying it off to Matt O’Riley.

O’Riley then dissected the Atletico low block through the eye of the needle, finding the Japanese international, who chipped Jan Oblak to complete the stunning move. And fans on social media were left in awe of the fantastic team goal to break the deadlock.
One Twitter user wrote: “Liquid football from Celtic there to open the scoring,” while another gushed: “I mean look at the build up. Unreal.”
