Bristol City fan TRICKS Saints fans into thinking he plays for them

Bristol City fan TRICKS Southampton supporters into thinking he’s one of their players, as he takes selfies with them and even signs a shirt!

  • Bristol City fans convinced Southampton supporters that one was a player
  • The Saints supporters asked for photos and a shirt signing from the youngster
  • Burnley are drowning so why is Vincent Kompany exempt from criticism? It’s almost not fair! It’s All Kicking Off

A playful Bristol City fan fooled Southampton supporters into thinking he was one of their club’s stars after they met in the Championship.

Robins supporter Ted Hill took photos and signed shirts with excited Saints supporters outside St. Mary’s on Wednesday night.

Southampton had come out on top 1-0 via Kyle Walker-Peters’ second-half goal but this was one way for the Bristolians to get their own back.

A clip shared by a friend Matt Pearce, who initiated the stunt, shows Ted greeting the Saints faithful and making their dreams come true.

Matt explained to MailOnline how he and his friend pulled off the ingenious trick.

Ted Hill, left, tricked Southampton fans that he was one of their players and they asked for signed shirts

Saints supporters asked Hill for photographs with him, thinking they had met a star

Matt Pearce, right, explained that he shouted for a photo with his friend Ted, which in turn convinced the Southampton fans that he was a player

He said: ‘I shouted across: “Ted, Ted, can I get a picture please?”

‘He clocks on to what I was hoping would happen straightaway and calmly says “yeah mate of course”.

‘Then these people see that and think he’s a player!’

Matt and Ted even have a photograph to prove the method behind their subterfuge.

‘We had extra boost of confidence with a few pints inside of us and saw the opportunity to have a laugh,’ he added.

While it is the first time they have ever attempted such a trick, and they have no concrete plans to repeat it, Matt remained open-minded about future stunts.

He said: ‘Difficult to repeat greatness but then again, never say never.’

Bristol City themselves were impressed with their antics, commenting ‘Fantastic’ beneath his post on X, formerly Twitter.

The Robins sit 12th in the Championship under Liam Manning, having sacked Nigel pearson at the end of October.

This was Manning’s first defeat with his new club after winning two and drawing one other game in November.

Southampton, meanwhile, sit fourth under Russell Martin and are unbeaten in their last 11 outings.

Kyle Walker-Peters scored the only goal of the game as Southampton beat Bristol City 1-0
