Manchester City's £100million man Jack Grealish has been slammed as 'unprofessional' for his Miguel Almiron jibe.
Grealish was out celebrating City's fourth Premier League title in five years, his first, when he joked Riyad Mahrez was right to be subbed off in Sunday's title decider. The Englishman claimed that Mahrez had been playing like Newcastle United's Miguel Almiron before he was hooked by Pep Guardiola.Grealish, who had been front and centre of the celebrations, said: "Riyad [Mahrez]: take him off as soon as possible… he played like [Miguel] Almiron."
And football fans have slammed the bleary-eyed City star for his comments about the fellow professional.
One fan tweeted: "Doesn’t matter if Jack Grealish is 'right' about Miguel Almiron or not (he’s not). Point is, there’s no beef there, you don’t say it, it’s rude & unprofessional!"
"Nah, that was wrong from Grealish, he can joke with Mahrez but shouldn’t disrespect other players," a second fumed. A third tweeted: "I’d rather play like Almiron than act like Grealish!"
A fourth said: "Just a gentle reminder to Jack Grealish that he has played 200 mins more than Almiron this season and only has 2 more goals…"

Journalist Roberto Rojas slammed Grealish for the comments.
Rojas tweeted: "Don’t understand why Grealish had to compare Mahrez to Almiron by slagging him off, that sounds very unprofessional.
"I totally understand Jack has been joking around with his fellow teammates being drunk (rightly so, he just won the Premier League so all credit to that) and I’m sure in the end he doesn’t mean it, but it just seems a bit weird to call out another player on another team IMO."
