Ryan Gravenberch says his first strike for Liverpool was the ‘best goal of my career so far’, as the Reds continued their winning ways in the Europa League.
Liverpool defeated Belgian side Union Saint-Gilloise 2-0 at Anfield on Thursday night, courtesy of goals from Gravenberch and Diogo Jota.
The midfielder opened the scoring just before half-time, tapping home after goalkeeper Anthony Moris spilled Trent Alexander-Arnold’s long range effort.
Gravenberch moved to Liverpool on deadline day in a deal worth £34million following a single, difficult season at Bayern Munich.
The Ajax graduate has started well for huis new club, with a goal and two assists in his first three starts, though he’s yet to have an impact in the Premier League having been limited to just 23 minutes worth of cameos off the bench.
That will surely change now after an impressive showing against Union SG, with the 21-year-old visibly thrilled to be playing for the Reds.
‘It’s great. It feels super good. It was the best goal of career so far I think,’ the Dutch International told TNT Sports post-match.
