Benjamin Mendy has launched a 'multi-million-pound' lawsuit against Manchester City over a claim against them over unpaid wages.
In July 2023, Mendy, 29, was found not guilty of rape and attempted rape at a retrial, five months after being acquitted of six other rape charges and one count of sexual assault. From September 2021, City stopped paying his £100,000-a-week-wages.
He left the club this summer and joined French side Lorient in the transfer window. However, various reports understand he is now set to challenge his former employers with a huge lawsuit.

According to Sky Sports, he has lodged a claim with the Employment Tribunal over the last few days. It's understood he is claiming "unauthorised deductions from wages" while his trial was ongoing.
He is purported to be seeking salary owed to him from September 2021 to June 2023, when his contract with the club expired. Sports lawyer Nick De Marco KC is believed to be acting on Mendy's behalf.
A statement made to Sky said: "Nick De Marco KC (instructed by Laffer Abogados (Madrid) is acting for the former Manchester City player Benjamin Mendy in a multi-million-pound claim for unauthorised deductions from wages.
"Manchester City FC failed to pay Mr Mendy any wages at all from September 2021, following Mr Mendy being charged with various offence all of which he was subsequently acquitted of, until the end of his contract in June 2023. The claim will come before an Employment Tribunal."
Mendy's accountant David Lumley recently described the back pay as being in the range of "nine to ten million pounds gross."
This season, he has made three Ligue 1 appearances for Lorient this season. He won three Premier League titles, four League Cups and the FA Cup during his four seasons playing for City. Mendy is also known for playing a key role in France's World Cup win in Russia all the way back in 2014.
