Aston Villa welcome Leicester City to Villa Park for this early afternoon kick-off, with both sides firmly in the hunt for European football next season.

The Foxes can move up into second with another away win with Brendan Rodgers hoping to claim another away scalp after his side’s impressive victory at Anfield last weekend.

Villa, meanwhile, are seven points adrift of the top-four places but do have several games in hand to make up the points and get themselves back in contention for Champions League football come next season.

Dean smith isn’t quite ready to be compared to Leicester yet though, with the Foxes a little further along in their progression.

Leicester and Aston Villa are really making Big Six sweat this season.

The Foxes lie third, level with second-placed Man United and looking good for a Champions League spot. Villa, meanwhile, would go fourth with victories in their three games-in-hand.

With both clubs developing exciting English talent and hoping to establish themselves in the top six or eight, a new West Midlands rivalry could be born.

No skipper, no talisman for Aston Villa today, with Jack Grealish not involved in the match-day squad at all after picking-up an injury. El Ghazi comes in hoping to fill big shoes today.

Matty Cash’s absence will also be a blow at right-back, as Ahmed Elmohamady fills-in.

Leicester’s changes are less significant after their stunning victory at Liverpool last time out, with Castagne and Luke Thomas coming in as full-backs, as Amartey is moved to the bench and Pereira replaces Albrighton on the right-wing.

LEI: Schmeichel; Castagne, Evans, Soyuncu, Thomas; Ndidi, Tielemans; Pereira, Maddison, Barnes; Vardy.

AVL: Martinez; Elmohamady, Konsa, Mings, Targett; Douglas Luiz, McGinn, Traore, Barkley, El Ghazi; Watkins.
