Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is expected to strengthen in the January transfer window after a disappointing season so far.
Results have picked up this week with successive Premier League wins over Chelsea and Brighton.
But before the weekend the Gunners had hovered dangerously close to the relegation zone, and Arteta knows further improvements are required.
Arsenal have lacked creativity with Mesut Ozil frozen out and have been linked with various attacking midfielders, while they also look set to strengthen their defence.
Here are the latest Arsenal transfer rumours.
Blow to Gunners Riqui Puig hopes
Arsenal look set to miss out on Riqui Puig with Barcelona set to offer the midfielder a new contract.
The Gunners have been linked with a move for the 21-year-old as Mikel Arteta looks to add more creativity to his squad.
Arteta is reported to have told transfer chief Edu he wants to sign the Spain under-21 star on loan next month.
Puig's Nou Camp contract expires at the end of this season, and he has played just five times so far this term.
But Barca are not planning to loan out Puig. That's according to Fabrizio Romano, who says the Catalan Club plan to trigger a clause that will extend the youngster's contract until 2023.
Defender set for Emirates medical
Hertha Berlin defender Omar Rekik has been given permission to have a medical with Arsenal when the transfer window opens next week.
That's according to a report from Bild, which claims the 19-year-old centre-back will cost £600,000.
Arsenal's academy chief Per Mertesacker is said to be an admirer of the Tunisian ace, and tried to sign him last summer.
Rekik would most likely join the under-23s but would also be given the opportunity to train with the first team.
Arsenal will have to pay double to land Buendia
Arsenal will have to pay double the reported price tag to land Norwich City star Emi Buendia, reckons Chris Sutton.
Buendia has scored six goals and laid on seven assists in 18 games for the Championship leaders so far this season.
The right winger is said to be on Arsenal's radar and has been linked with a £15million move – but Sutton reckons an offer of that amount would be "an insult".
“£15million, are you joking?" former Chelsea striker Sutton said on BBC Radio Five Live . "He’s worth double that, come on.
"That’s an insult. Why would you sell Buendia for £15m in January when he is so important in getting Norwich promotion? That’s not worth £15m."
