Arsenal sent Emiliano Buendia transfer message by Norwich boss Daniel Farke

Arsenal: Has Arteta found a winning formula for Gunners?

Arsenal have been told that Emiliano Buendia is “happy” at Norwich amid reports of a potential move to the Emirates this month. Buendia is one of a host of attacking midfielders linked with a January transfer to Arsenal. The Gunners are in the market for some extra creativity, with Real Madrid star Isco and Borussia Dortmund ace Julian Brandt also rumoured to be targets.

Buendia scored the only goal for Norwich in their 1-0 win over Barnsley on Saturday.

And after the match, Canaries boss Daniel Farke he was not concerned by rumours linking the Argentine with a move away from the club.

Farke said: “He is our player. He is on a long term contract. He is happy here. I am not worried about speculation.”

The German says he expects Buendia to stay, adding: “He is a great character, totally focused and totally committed to us.

“He is under a long term contract so I expect we will keep him.”

Buendia’s goal against Barnsley was his seventh in 19 Championship appearances this season.

The 24-year-old has also contributed six assists for his team-mates.

Buendia’s latest strike was a superbly-taken finish after a fine pass from Kenny McLean.

And Farke says he is delighted with the performances of the midfielder this season.

“To score a wonder goal is a dream for a manager at any time,” Farke said.

“I believe he has scored wonder goals before this transfer window was open.

“I doubt any scout or manager will think differently after this goal or one scene. Everyone knows him and knows his quality.

“He has scored these types of goals for us before. He is our player, he is a key figure in our push to finish this season very well.

“I am pretty happy we have him and delighted he scored this quite important goal.

“I am delighted with his performance and his performances over the last few months.

“He has developed as a player and a person in terms of his attitude and his personality. He is still young but at 24 or 25 you are not the player of 18.”
