Arsenal predicted XI vs Leeds as Mikel Arteta plans several changes

Mikel Arteta is expected to make several changes to his Arsenal lineup as he looks to get their league form back on track against Leeds.

The Gunners travel to Elland Road on Sunday for a tricky fixture for their first one back after the international break.

Last time out, Arteta's side were comfortably put away 3-0 by Aston Villa and have picked up just three points from their previous four matches.

Leeds have done no better than that though, and shipped four goals in each of their last two.

Arsenal's week has been dogged by reports of a training ground bust-up between Dani Ceballos and David Luiz, but both players are set to start.

Luiz was left among the substitutes for the Villa defeat due to injury, but will resume his position at the centre of Arsenal's three-man defence.

Gabriel and Kieran Tierney will operate either side of the Brazilian, as Rob Holding is dropped to the bench.

The biggest blow to Arteta is an injury to Thomas Partey which will seemingly rule the midfielder out of contention.

Mohamed Elneny is also sidelined after contracting coronavirus, so Granit Xhaka has a chance to stake a fresh claim alongside Ceballos.

Youngster Bukayo Saka had an enjoyable international break, appearing in all three of England's matches.

Arteta is likely to give the teenager a rest on this occasion, handing Ainsley Maitland-Niles an opportunity to impress in his place down the left, while Hector Bellerin takes up his usual position on the opposite flank.

Up front, Arteta teased the idea of shifting captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang into a central role, but is determined to stick with his guns as Alexandre Lacazette leads the line through the middle.

Aubameyang will therefore remain on the left of the attacking trio, while Nicolas Pepe is due to be recalled into the starting XI instead of Willian, who has been criticised for his recent form.

Predicted Arsenal XI: Leno, Gabriel, Luiz, Tierney, Bellerin, Ceballos, Xhaka, Maitland-Niles, Pepe, Lacazette, Aubameyang
