Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing a former Arsene Wenger target to bolster their attacking resources. Antonio Sanabria is enjoying his best goalscoring season and the Gunners are claimed to be keen on a potential deal worth around £21.6million.
It is far from the first time that Arsenal have been linked with Sanabria. The Gunners’ first interest in the player was way back in 2013 when he was in 17 the academy at Barcelona.
Wenger continued to keep an eye on his progress and was again linked with a move two years later when he was at Roma. The striker seems to have been around forever but only turned 27 in March and Arsenal are again said to be open to a potential transfer.
A report from Italian outlet La Repubblica says Arsenal are interested in the Paraguay international. AC Milan and Napoli are also named as potential suitors for Sanabria, who is valued at £21.6m (€25m).

Sanabria has never been prolific in front of goal. He has scored 12 goals in 31 Serie A appearances this season, which is his best career return.
His performances have earned rave reviews in a Torino side that sits mid-table in Italy’s top flight. His three assists this term is also the most he has registered in a single campaign in his career.
Sanabria has only once started more league games in a season than the current campaign. Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta may feel the player is now hitting his prime and can provide competition and support for Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah.
Jesus has had a big impact at Arsenal since joining from Manchester City last summer. He has 10 goals and five assists in 25 league appearances, so is also not prolific in that regard.

Arsenal have relied on goals from other sources, with Gabriel Martinelli and Martin Odegaard level on 15 each, while Bukayo Saka has found the net on 13 occasions. Jesus spent much of his City career playing out wide and has often drifted out of position when playing centrally for the Gunners.
Sanabria has played up front every game for Torino this season. Arsenal are set to reserve much of their summer budget on recruiting in midfield, with Declan Rice the top target.
If Arteta believes Sanabria can strengthen his attacking resources, a deal at just over £20m would not leave too big a dent in the coffers.
