Arsenal fans are desperate for the club to secure the signing of Lyon’s Houssem Aouar.
The Gunners have brought in Willian and Gabriel so far this summer following their FA Cup final win over Chelsea, with Mikel Arteta open about his desire to improve his playing squad.
Following the aforementioned deals, attentions have turned to both Aouar and Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey, with the transfer window set to close on October 5.
Supporters have kept a keen eye on the Frenchman following the return of Ligue 1, but they were only able to watch a cameo performance as he came off the bench in the 0-0 draw against Bordeaux on Friday.
Following that outing, one fan said: “Aouar is everywhere as usual. He would be so good with us. I don't think it'll happen but I cross my fingers.”
With a second adding: “Aouar already making an impact off the bench.”
A third continued: “Aouar hits the post! What a goal it could have been. Bring him to Arsenal!”
And a fourth stating: “Aouar is so so good man.”
Lyon’s sporting director Juninho said of a possible swap with Matteo Guendouzi earlier this week: “Houssem Aouar is really well liked by Arteta.
“There were some discussions for Guendouzi, who is also a good player. He was brought up during the discussion.
“But we don’t need his profile, we were very clear. If it is like that, we are not interested at all, we cut the conversation, that is where things ended.”
With Arteta saying about his plans: “We are still active in the market.

“We are looking at different options, with players in and out. At the moment the squad balance is not ideal and what we want to achieve.
“There is still some work to do but we have to bear in mind the complication of this market and the complexity as well.
“Numbers wise, some positions are overbooked and some others, in terms of specific qualities that we need, they are still not there.
“But it’s going to be very difficult to achieve what we want in one window or two windows. It’s a process, it has to be evolving and most importantly it has to be a sustainable model that we can consistently fit in using our academy players.”
