Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has some mixed injury updates ahead of the visit to Brentford on Sunday. The Gunners will head into the international break top of the Premier League table if they pick up three points in west London. Express Sport looks at the XI Arteta is expected to pick.
Goalkeeper – Ramsdale
Aaron Ramsdale’s only two clean sheets this season have come on the road. Arsenal will do well to stop an in-form Brentford side from scoring on their own patch.
With Jordan Pickford currently injured, Ramsdale will be pushing his case to start for England in their upcoming friendlies. Nick Pope is likely to be his main rival following his fine start at Newcastle.
Defence – White, Saliba, Gabriel, Tierney
Arteta may consider bringing Takehiro Tomiyasu in for his first Premier League start of the season at right-back. However, he was full of praise for Ben White at his press conference on Friday after the former Brighton man missed out on Gareth Southgate’s squad.
Arteta looks set to be forced into a change at left-back, with Oleksandr Zinchenko suffering a calf injury which the Ukraine FA say will keep him out for a couple of weeks. Kieran Tierney will come in for the versatile star, with William Saliba and Gabriel starting again in the middle of the defence.
Midfield – Partey, Odegaard, Xhaka
Thomas Partey has missed four matches with a thigh injury but has been back in full training for around a week. He could come straight back into the team in place of Albert Sambi Lokonga, who has done well in his absence.
Martin Odegaard and Granit Xhaka have started every league match so far this season. The pair are nailed-on in Arteta’s side as long as they stay fit.

Attack – Saka, Jesus, Martinelli
The same trio has started in attack for every league match. Gabriel Jesus has scored just once in his last five appearances so will be aiming to improve on that this weekend.
Bukayo Saka scored his first goal from open play since March in the 3-1 loss at Manchester United last time out. Gabriel Martinelli will continue on the left, with Emile Smith Rowe still struggling with a groin problem
Arsenal expected XI vs Brentford in full: Ramsdale; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Tierney; Partey, Odegaard, Xhaka; Saka, Jesus, Martinelli
