Mikel Arteta reviews the PSV Eindhoven game
Mikel Arteta has provided an update on Gabriel Martinelli and Thomas Partey’s physical conditions heading into this weekend’s North London derby. The Arsenal boss hasn’t ruled out Martinelli making a cameo apperance as he continues his road to recovery while the same couldn’t be said for Partey, who remains sidelined by injury.
“With Gabi [Martinelli] we’re still assessing him so let’s see if he can make the game or not. Thomas [Partey] is definitely out and the rest hopefully available,” said Arteta of Martinelli and Partey’s availability heading into Sunday’s Premier League clash with Tottenham.
Partey, on the other hand, is expected to be out for a little while longer after sustaining a groin injury while training with the Ghanaian international team three weeks ago. According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal are hoping Partey will be available after the October international break.
“He’s still a few weeks away. He’s got a muscle injury. He’s progressing well, but he’s still a few weeks away,” said Arteta last week.
