Thomas Tuchel’s outburst following poor play from Timo Werner and Marcos Alonso was loved by Chelsea fans.

The Blues travelled to Southampton on Saturday lunchtime for their latest Premier League fixture and dominated the early possession.

It was the Saints that went ahead through Takumi Minamino’s neat finish, though it was an earlier incident that frustrated Tuchel.

Chelsea were in a positive position with Werner on the ball on the edge of the box.

The summer signing has struggled at Stamford Bridge and played a poor ball out wide, which Alonso had to chase.

The Spaniard appeared to reach the ball before it went out but the full-back could not stop conceding the goal kick.

It clearly frustrated Tuchel with the new boss, who replaced Frank Lampard last summer, waving his arms about in frustration.

He then seemed to send out some clear instructions wanting some improvement from the pair, and Chelsea fans liked what they saw.

One posted on social media: “Tuchel reacting to Alonso like Chelsea-Twitter does most of the time – a mix of shocking disbelief and anger.”

While another added: “Tuchel just did what Lampard never did in his 1 and half season reign as head coach and that’s lash out on a player in game… my manager.”

A third commented: “Tuchel has raised the standards so much in this club I love it.”

With one more agreeing with the style of management: “I like how Tuchel is shouting at them.”

One more put: “Tuchel furious with Timo lol.”

Chelsea went into the game in fourth, 14 points behind Prem leaders Manchester City.
